What Ravens Get Up To
They never-tell

The other day Mollie and I were on our morning walk. As we geared up in the parking lot I heard the racous calls of some ravens deep in the woods. Normally there are two resident ravens (sober and not-so sober) but this sounded like more.
We made our way up the trail through the forest and finally I could see at the next turn the source of the noise. There were four or more ravens on the ground all calling to each other.

One or two flew off when they saw us but I told Mollie to stay and we watched for a minute until Mollie decided it would be fun to chase.
I assumed there was some carrion there and the meeting was to feed on something. The ravens flew off as we approached but there was no sign of anything dead. Mollie would have been on it in a hurry if there were. The ravens, however, stayed in the trees adjacent to where we stood and called to each other and those deeper in the forest but did not seem worried about us.

I looked all over where they were standing and could not find any reason for why they were there or the reason for the commotion.
Finally I shot a short video.
