Mineral Point

A short photo tour.

Mineral Point

Yesterday was especially nice with some sun and actual warmth. Mollie and I went for a hike at Mineral Point trail.

The photos are taken with a 500mm f5.6 and a 28mm Olympus f3.5 lens. I actually used two cameras (one for each) which probably looked ridiculous but worked surprisingly well.

The view from near the start of the trail. The Monarch mountains with the mouth of the Clark Fork river in the distance.

The water on the lake had this glassy but not still look throughout the day. The trail crosses a few cedar groves in deeper wetter ravines.

Eventually the trail winds towards Green Bay (not that one) and down towards the water some shingle beaches.

A view of the Cabinets before we head down.
The rocky Monarchs on the opposite shore.

The views from the shore are wonderful. Quite a few people were about enjoying the warm afternoon.

The first glacier lilies.
This is what Mollie came for!
The far shore… shadow, light, smoke.
