GFX100RF
No I didn't blow a lot of money on a new camera!
Anyone plugged into the digital photography scene has by now probably seen the release of Fujifilm’s new GFX100RF. I won’t go into it as it is not the point of the post really. Though I suppose it is.
The GFX100RF is a fixed lens version of their flagship medium format camera. It has a fixed 35mm lens (28mm crop factor field of view) backed up with the 100MP sensor. For anyone with $5K to blow it is there. These are some intriguing ideas as a smaller form factor camera that is easy to carry. It probably does well for street and landscape work.
I thought why don’t I try to mimic it? So I dusted off my Fuji GFX 50s ii body and adapted an old Olympus Zuiko 28 mm f3.5 manual focus lens I have. I then took out for a spin around town. We had some rare sunshine so Mollie I went for a stroll. I shot with the Fujifilm Acros black and white film simulation.
It was a lot of fun. Very wide angle I mostly shot it with 35mm crop mode on (30mpixels). Some were shot in 65:24 and some full frame (identifiable by corner vignetting) for a 22mm field of view.
It is very wide, much wider than I have been shooting lately (500mm) but it was nice to know lots would be in focus at f8. Lots of photos of Sandpoint below. Most of them I just adjusted the white point on.
