End of Summer 2024

End of Summer 2024

We are now in that part of the year where the days shorten with increasing rapidity as we approach the autumnal equinox. For those with an ear for mathematics the seasons are cyclical and cycles mean circles and mathematically we are called to sine(x) to describe the motion. As it happens so go our seasons and while the slowest changes happen at the tops and bottoms of the sine curve which correspond to the summer and winter solstices the equinoxes are on the steep slopes of the curve and thus we have another understanding of why winter feels so long and the dog days of summer seem to drag out.

So in the evenings I find it more challenging to find images as the light fades faster heading to dinner time. I walk without a tripod and I have decided to shoot the light. And the light is the sky and so the sky and the light instruct me as to what subjects I should be interested in. Hear are a few from one such evening taking Mollie out for a walk.

These were taken with a Fuji GFX 50sii with an adapted Mamiya 645 lens 120mm f3.5.
