December Morning in Pine Street Woods

Gray fog filled all the space on the street between the houses and seeped like depression through town today.
Fog is a great medium for intimate landscape photography. The fundamental skill I think is required is reducing the complexity of a woodland scene. Fog helps…
Mollie and I had the mountain to ourselves this morning (at least for now) as we skidded across the icy parking lot and crunched our way skirting the meadow, surprised by the clear blue sky after we left the fog behind. Light clouds tinted by the rising sun.
We headed down this damp morning past the patches left over from the few days old snow Zen Garden watching the snow in the valleys and wisps of clouds floating on the hillside that mirror the one we are on. Zen Garden that twisted trapsing path down lichen-moss patched boulder fields. Moose tracks in the sporadic snow patches. We crossed over the Green Heart and uphill again.

Green Heart snakes up the hill but I am attracted off the trail and find enticing light on mossy boulders.
Mollie was doing her own Zen state; waiting patiently alertly to the sensations of presence.

I was lead up to another track (Chaos Theory) the sun coming up over the ridge casting light through the mist and trees.

The sun was rising and it was time to head home. In the meadow I found some black and white images.
